Arizona State University-Tempe

Over the past year and a half, plans have been in place
to transform one of the physics classrooms in Physical
Science Building (H wing) to a SCALE-UP room. This
room will encompass a variety of unique aspects not seen
in traditional classrooms. The focus of this room is to
foster collaboration and provide a more interactive
classroom environment. On the ASU Tempe campus,
there are already a handful of SCALE-UP classrooms that
have proved to be very effective. The new SCALE-UP
room will house Gamez-Warble and Adam’s reformed
PHY 121 class as well as a number of other courses.

Many steps have been taken to get the construction of
this classroom underway. After over a year of planning
and meetings, we are extremely excited to announce that
the classroom will undergo renovation once the spring
semester ends. If everything goes as planned, the room
will be completed by the end of July 2014, just in time for the
start of the fall semester.
