They have a nice article in the Dec 2010 issue of The Physics Teacher, starting on page 567 “Innovative interactive lecture demonstrations using wireless force sensors and accelerometers for introductory physics courses.”
Why is inquiry-based teaching better?
- Incorporates activity/discussion/lecture into a seamless class;
- Students work in small peer groups;
- Hands-on investigation of key concepts and ideas;
- Supports student involvement which enhances understanding;
- Instructors facilitate discussions between students then provide formal summary of key concepts and ideas.
